In my last entry, I blogged that Sophie was learning new words and today she could say "star" when we sing twinkle twinkle little star. She's truly mummy's little star.
Sophie also also learnt how to feed herself about a month ago.
It started with us trying to get her to eat her own MacDonalds pancakes, then it progressed to Kenny Rogers corn muffins and mash potato and now carrots! I must say what helped in getting her to feed herself was us giving her a bowl and a spoon while we feed her at meal times. It served a few purposes
- helps to get her distracted while we
- gives her something to do instead of pushing our hands or attempting to climb out of her high chair
- and of course encourages her to feed herself

You can see the concentration in her eyes as she aims her fork into the carrots and how she lights up when she gets it into her mouth at the end of the video.
ayeee she looks so much older!
ReplyDeletewill she use her hands instead?
Hey Nadine,
ReplyDeleteyeah she uses her hands but mostly to pick up food from the tray or table. She knows that what goes into the bowl is the fork or spoon....at least MOST of the time. Haha
